I’m a professional non-fiction writer and editor with over three years of experience. I have worked for:

I have volunteered with the Editors Canada national conference (2024) and the Vancouver Public Library Blue Pencil Writing Consults.

In April 2024, Editors BC (the BC branch of Editors Canada) named me Volunteer of the Month.

My Approach to Editing

As a writer, I know what it’s like to be too close to a manuscript. It is easy to miss the details when you reread your own writing. I am not here to judge you or your work; I am a fresh pair of eyes. My goal is to maintain your voice while helping you present your best work—i.e., error free and easy to read.

Editing Services

I offer services at all stages of the editing process.

  • Structural editing (i.e., what your book should contain, and in what order)
  • Stylistic editing (i.e., how sentences and paragraphs flow together)
  • Copy editing (i.e., eliminating grammatical and stylistic errors)
  • Fact checking (i.e., making sure that everything is correct)
  • Proofreading (i.e., checking the printer’s copy against the manuscript)

Sample Edits

In addition to full editing services, I also offer sample edits. This is a low-cost option to start the editing process and learn more about what your manuscript needs. You are welcome to use my suggestions to edit your own work.

Send me a short section of your manuscript (up to 2,500 words), and I will provide:

  • Comments on the manuscript (in Track Changes)
  • A short report with my recommendations (up to five pages)
  • A video call to discuss my recommendations (up to one hour)
